Bloomfield Schools will celebrate Red Ribbon Week during October 29-November 2, with a parade on October 31 at 1:30 P.M. The Bloomfield Schools Red Ribbon Week theme is “I pledge to be Drug Free!” The Red Ribbon Campaign was started in 1985 when drug traffickers in Mexico City murdered Kiki Camarena, a DEA agent. This began the continuing tradition and displaying of Red Ribbons as a symbol of intolerance towards the use of drugs. The mission of the Red Ribbon Campaign is to present a unified and visible commitment toward the creation of a drug free America.
